NICHOLAS ISHERWOOD Bass Baritone

Ariels Lied

"Ariels Lied" for boy soprano and tape (reduced to 2 channels from 8);  performed by Christophe de Villeneuve, boy soprano.  This piece was performed at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Dôme IMAX in Paris, the CNAT in Reims and in Mestre (Italy).


The Prayer of Hermaphroditus

The Prayer of Hermaphroditus, a monody for soprano and bass singers playing a koto, a daiko, a kakko, two rins and a rain stick (text by Ovid from "Metamorphosis," adapted by the composer) performances: CNRS (Orsay, France), Goethe Institut (Paris), l'Orme Festival (Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris), Togamura Festival (Japan), Hong Kong, Alliance Française (Taiwan); all performances were by Nicholas Isherwood, bass and Isabel Soccoja, soprano.

 "Detrás de mi en la rama quiero verte" for guitar and bass baritone; bass baritone: Nicholas Isherwood, guitar: Magnus Andersson; recorded live in Nashville, Tennessee. This piece was performed at the Théatre Dunois in Paris, in Iesi and at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
