OPERA CIRCUS
Nicholas Isherwood, bass baritone
Sara Paone, mezzo soprano
Mikko Luoma, accordion
Singers as circus performers! This is the originality of our OPERACIRCUS. All operas are love stories on one level or another. In this evening, Don Giovanni and Zerlina make their advances on a tightrope, Carmen sings about love being a rebellious bird while doing a trapeze act, the Count fumes interspersing singing and fire eating and Wozzeck kills Marie in a knife throwing act. The opera arias and duets cover the history of opera from Monteverdi to Stockhausen. Everything is accompanied by the accordion, which also begins the evening with the Prelude to Tristan and ends it with the Liebestod.
